QEP and Landon acquire Bellsola, a leading Spanish producer of frozen bread

Date: September 2003

Qualitas Equity Partners’ fund Qualitas Venture Capital, S.C.R., and Landon Investments have acquired the company Bellsolā, the third largest Spanish producer of pre-cooked frozen bread dough.  Bellsolā products include a wide variety frozen bread, rolls and pastries that are reheated on-site in bakeries, supermarkets and convenience stores.

The investors aim to maintain the growth achieved in the last years by Bellsolā and to provide it the necessary resources to undergo new investments in the future.

The operation has been structured as a LBO, with Bank of Scotland underwriting all of the acquisition debt, both senior and mezzanine. Invercaixa advised the seller in the transaction.

Bellsolā closed the year 2002 with sales of €42 million and an EBITDA greater than €5 million.
